Peach Texture Hack Mkwii Olympics
Meh, I'd bring it back from old forum on 4DR. Well, this topic has posted by Tomix for about how to model hack. But that's not me that I made. Tomix made it, but he's not here anymore.
So, I've bring it on here. All work below is by Tomix, it was lost on the old forum but I was able to find itToday, i will show you how to model hack into mario kart wii. The Process is long, but after you do about 50 some odd conversions, it gets easier and faster each time.THINGS YOU WILL NEED:Sketchup, Sketchup OBJ Exporter and Sketchup OBJ Importer:CTools:?d66g7137dcyhew6SZS Modifier:?gzjb5ld7799hynl3DS Max: If your doing Animated Models. and64bitOPTIONAL THINGS:Gimp:Blender:Winrar:To import models to Mario Kart wii, it takes a while. So just refer back to this if you get stuck along the way.Step 1Alrighty. Make sure you download all of the files BEFORE hand!Run the Sketchup OBJ Importer, as this will be a crucial plugin for us to use. After that is installed, locate your OBJExporter2.rb.This is our OBJ exporter that we will use to export the model to CTools. To install the Plugin, Locate your sketchup Directory. To do this, it is either in two locations. It is either in your Main Drive Letter, Then Program Files/Google/Google Sketchup 8/, OR it is in Program Files (x86)/Google/GoogleSketchup 8/.NOTE: The (x86) ONLY APPLYS TO 64-bit Windows users! Now that you have located your Base directory, drop the OBJExporter2.rb in the Plugins folder. Now Open Google Sketchup. If this is the first time your openning Sketchup, choose the METERS units.
This is CRUCIAL! If you do not set these to Meters, the scalingwont be right! If you have gone through the setup already, no need to fret! This is your main Sketchup layout. You may not have many icons, but thats due to the many plugins i have installed. Locate the WINDOW Tabon the top. Then find a option called Preferences. This Box should pop up.
Click on the Template item, then click SIMPLE TEMPLATE - METERSFollow the arrows, then click Ok.You're all set! Now lets get modelling!Step 2I would first get familiar with your Modelling program, and this case Sketchup BEFORE you do any modifiying to ANY game.
This makes youmore aware of the program, and its capabilities. This is very important. Find some tutorials online, and learn Sketchup and its tools first.
Also just try making basic shapes with thesoftware, and just do trial and error. The more you fool around in the software, the better you will get!Find some tutorials, learn the program more, then refer back to the tutorial.Step 3First thing first, if your making a model hack for items, please note that Bullet Bills, require Bones. This cant be done with googlesketchup, and requires 3DS Max.If your going to make one, refer to this tutorial. In3DSMaxIF your going to make a custom track, refer to this tutorial:If your porting another model from a different game, refer to this tutorial. Now that you know the requirements, lets get started!Step 4Find the model you are going to use. This could be a rip, custom model, downloaded, etc.Things to keep in mind:Mario Kart Wii cant handle High Poly models, so models such as: (note this model was smoothed, so it looks fine, but believe me it wasreally high poly before.)Wont work. Keep the models low poly, makes the game prone less to crashing, and freezing.A model such as this?:Why yes it will!
Peach Texture Hack Mkwii Olympics 2
Low poly, small textures, means it will be a perfect model. But for the sake of this tutorial, i will use a model i downloaded from the. This is a good site to use,but keep in mind, if your using this place to get models, AND RELEASE THEM that you should get permission UNLESS they have stated so in atxt file included with the model. Here is the model i am going to use.Step 5This could be either the easiest, or the hardest step.Reason i say this, is becuase with the OBJ importer i gave, it has a tendency to crash when importing.objs.NOTE: IT IS NOT NECCESARY TO HAVE A OBJ FILE. A.DAE FILE WORKS JUST AS GOOD.If you run into this problem, use blender to fix this. We are going to make Step five into sub steps, i will now Branch off into a Sub 1Part, and a Sub 2 part. If your model imported with textures, then skip Sub 1 and move on to Sub 2.
If your model crashed sketchup whileimporting as a obj, click Sub 1.CLICK THIS FOR SUB 1:Spoiler:Alright. If you just came from the SUB 1 section, you may skip this to STEP 6.For those of you that didnt need to follow this, close sketchup and make a folder on your Desktop. This will be your Working folder. Whitinthat folder, make a FINAL folder.
Extract your main model files into the working folder, but NOT THE FINAL FOLDER.Then,Step 6Alright. Now import your model BACK into Sketchup. Dont know how to import? Let me show you!Go to File, Import.Click the drop down menu to show all files.Be sure NOT TO CLICK ALL SUPPORTED IMAGE TYPES. Either Choose OBJ, 3DS, or Dae.Make sure Units are at Meters when importing!Welcome Bowser!
Well your kinda on your side. Oh yeah, if you want to get rid of that Sketchup Woman, right click her and click erase.Done! Now if your model isnt correctly rotated, click the rotate tool.Fiddle around with the tool, until you are on the correct Axis. Once you are, click to lock the tool, then rotate the model by moving your mouse.Yay! Bowser is on his feet!Well done. Now do CTRL + S and save it in your FINAL FOLDER.
Be sure to save OFTEN!Now that our main model is there, we need to properly size it.Minimize Sketchup, and open up SZS Modifier.Locate your Spare Common.szs. If you are doing a different Model, then find the model you want to replace. If i wanted to replace Mario on his Mach Bike, i would find the szs named: mabikemr.szs.Locate the SZS, and open it up.I am going to open the Banana.brres, since this is the model i am replacing.Now. Click on your.mdl0 model, aka the Banana model. Now, go to File, Export. (Yes, i do use a Blueshell model as a Banana. I did not open the Blue shell model folder. =PNow save it as base.objand click save.Head back into Sketchup, and go to File - Import - Use the Drop down menu to pic OBJ then Import.Woah!
That shell is bigger then Bowser. No need to worry, this is easy to fix!Click your model, then hit S on your key board. All the arrows marked in RED will make the model larger.BLUE Arrows will stretch the model respectively in that direction.Use the Points marked by RED Arrows. That looks about right. Then click the Folder icon, then choose your texture. Repeat this proccess for each texture.Tada! Fixed. Now right click your model in the file browser, and rename it whatever model you are replacing. After click the SAVE button ABOVE UNDER THE FILE TAB.
It is a wonderful thing that youare in a position to collect the real ones. The reading, while not as fun as paper, has been very enriching. What you know, and I have learned, is that these old books contain a lot. Hi Joel,You and I once spoke of collecting old books. I consider myself really fortunate tohunt the ones on the internet and collect them for my library.
BE SURE TO DO THIS AFTER EACH RENAME. THIS IS CRUCIAL.After renaming, and saving, close the Brres editor (click that save button one last time c, and go back to SZS Explorer, and click the save button.BEFORE YOU CLICK SAVE, MAKE A BACKUP FILE INCASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG.
